Library Database Resources

Remember: Digital Resources found in databases could be Articles from periodicals (magazines, research/scholarly journals, newspapers) or Books, or sometimes also Primary Sources.

We like databases because

  1. It's easier to determine reliability of content found in them
  2. They have content that is not necessarily freely available on the open web
  3. They have additional features that add value to the content.

Reminder: You need passwords to use the databases from home.

GALE Databases from the CCHS Library

This searches a general grouping of multiple databases and books that are related to topics you study in 9th grade history.

While this database focuses on current issues, it does have individual pages for countries, and may have some historical information.

This database focuses on history from an American perspective, so while it may have general information about WWI, it shouldn't be your only source.
